2006 season winners honoured at club dinner
Riders from both past and present honoured Fenland Clarion Cycling Club riders at a gala dinner hosted at the Milton Golf Club on 11th November.
It has been a successful season for the Peterborough based club, with their riders securing great results both locally and further afield. Lynden Leadbeater landed the biggest haul of the evening including victories in the Helpston Classic time trial (which was run in torrential rain), the Place to Place at Folksworth and Hardriders at Fotheringhay. These wins were enough to ensure Leadbeater was the 2006 club champion.
Other notable winners were husband and wife team Ian and Jayne Clarke who broke a number of club records and Martin Jones who landed both the 10 (equal with Dave Langlands) and 25 mile championship.
The clubs younger members battled out for the Holmes U16 merit trophy with newcomer Simon Jacklin winning the competition. It was a successful night for the Jacklin’s as Malcolm won the weekly Bluebell series at his first attempt.
